My Ruin recorded our cover of "Stoopid" by Snot at Stanbridge Farm Studios in England while rehearsing for our first UK tour in 1999. This was also a year before I met Mick and he because my one true musical partner in My Ruin.
Before I wrote the song "Rockstar" which appeared on our album "A Prayer Under Pressure Of Violent Anguish" in 2000, I wanted to do something in loving memory of vocalist Lynn Strait (R.I.P.) of the band Snot who had been tragically killed in a car accident on 12.11.98. The same day my grandfather had died the previous year. ππ
My first band Manhole & Snot were great friends in our early days and Lynn & I were as well. His death was heartbreaking and his life taken far too soon. A terrible loss to the rock world and to those who loved him. Recording this song in remembrance helped ease the pain. It's still hard to listen to for me, to this day.
